Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani has refused to look earlier than the U.S. Home of Representatives committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol assault until his testimony is videotaped, his lawyer and a spokesman for the panel stated on Thursday.
Giuliani’s lawyer, Robert Costello informed Reuters that the committee had rejected the demand.
“Confirmed. We requested that we may videotape the interview in order that we’d have a replica of what was stated. The Choose Committee refused,” Costello informed Reuters in an e-mail.
Giuliani, who served as former U.S. President Donald Trump’s lawyer, had beforehand agreed to a “transcribed interview”,
the committee’s spokesman Tim Mulvey stated.
“Mr. Giuliani is a crucial witness to the conspiracy to overthrow the federal government and he stays underneath subpoena,” Mulvey stated. “If he refuses to conform the committee will contemplate all enforcement choices.”
